My principle interests are in the effect of climatic disturbances on forest dynamics, mainly changes due to extreme climatic events (i.e. droughts). I work with woody trees on experimental biology, dendroecology, population dynamics, dieback processes (causes and consequences), and responses to climatic disturbance. The strong tie connecting all of these is the knowledge of past, present and future changes in forest vegetation compositions and the understanding of climatically anomalous events as a force driving forest demographic processes. I also have a strong interest in topics related with monitoring trees performance and vegetation compositions in large experiment plots.
